The main developer--China Resources Shimei Bay Tourism Development (Hainan) (CRC Hainan) ¨ is honored to present one of its prime projects, - "Shimei Bay Project". a world class beach tourism resort in Wanning City, Hainan Province, China.
Shimei Bay covers roughly 1,200 hectares. To the southeastern side of the project is the South China Sea, which blesses the subject site with a splendid beach stretching 6km. The remaining surroundings are embraced by lush hillsides intertwined by crystal-clear brooks meandering into the sea. With no man-made destruction or developments, and being home to a few scattered habitations, the area retains the tropical, primitive charm that is unique to Hainan Island. It is an environmentally sustainable tourism site of sublime beauty.
The site is surrounded by lush hillsides from the west, north and east with the south facing the South China Sea.
Along the shoreline is a fine sand beach stretching approximately 6 kilometers in length. Free of any pollution, seawater near the shore enjoys a visibility of up to 9m.
Behind the beach along much of the site is a broad area of rolling sand dunes. In addition to small pine trees, deciduous trees, shrubs, grass and other groundcovers, there are some man-made and natural aquaculture ponds of varying sizes.
To the east of the Shimei Bay is a small valley covered with cultivated crops, through which meanders one little brook. The government forbids any development on the hill to the north of the site.
A highway connects the development to the Ocean Bay Golf Club. This 18-hole golf course is said to be the only golf course on Hainan, which possesses full scenic seaview and is highly popular among golfers.
Roughly 1.7 km off the shoreline exists a small island, Jiajing Island which lies an area of about 14.2 hectares. It is seen as a tortoise moving slowly into the vast ocean. Rich and colorful corals are bred in waters surrounding the island.
